The Department of Defense (DoD) created the Resources.ThatGuy.com website to provide informational resources and cost-free marketing materials to military points of contact as part of a national effort to reduce excessive drinking among U.S. service members. We take your privacy very seriously. In compliance with the online privacy guidelines of the White House Office of Management and Budget, we do not sell, share or rent any personally identifying information about you.

I. Information You Submit

The information we receive depends upon what you do when visiting our site. If you choose to submit a comment, question or story to the “Contact Us” submission page, we will request your e-mail address only if you ask for a response. We will store the address only long enough to respond to your request. If you create a user account and password, and/or request materials to be sent as a point of contact for the That Guy campaign, your account and contact information will be added to our database to receive materials and follow up information.

II. Information Collected and Stored Automatically

We automatically collect and store the following information about your visit:

  • The Internet domain (for example, “xcompany.com” if you use a private Internet access account, or “yourbranch.mil” if you connect from an installation’s domain) and IP address (an IP address is a number that is automatically assigned to your computer whenever you are surfing the Web) from which you access our website;

  • The date and time you access our site;
  • The pages you visit; and
  • If you linked to the Resources.ThatGuy.com from another website, the address of that Web site.

If we decide to change our privacy policy, we will post those changes on our Homepage so our users are always aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and under what circumstances, if any, we disclose it.
